Some of you have noticed that I haven't been around much this last month and there are several reasons for that. One of which being that for the first 4 months of Salty Rhyme's life I spent around 60 hours a week working on content, hand-crafting new vegan recipes, pouring my soul into poetry and much more.
After working so many hours on this amazing endeavor for what is relatively a short period of time, I took a short break to evaluate the energy I had been putting into it. I looked at what posts were working, what received the most response, what I enjoyed doing the most and what you all wanted more of, along with many other factors. This reflection process allowed for me to really focus on what is working and what isn't (meaning content that I created that didn't resonate with y'all - I mean why make more of that!?).
So there will be some changes coming to this site and knowing me, they will occur rapidly so don't be thrown. There will be changes as small as using a different font for the content I create (you may have noticed this change already), the frequency of my posts, fine-tuning the content of the blog portion, the layout and detail within each hand-crafted plant-based recipe and the largest change of all, the name. This is one of the aspects of the site that I found does not resonate with readers or people I talk to in general.
My decision to change the name has been the most thought-out and biggest decision I have made regarding this endeavor. It has the potential to make a huge impact and it will most likely take the most time. From the domain name, to changing all the URL backlinks from posts to Pinterest, tweeted on Twitter, etc. So the next couple of weeks will be Salty Rhyme's metamorphosis from a caterpillar into Raepublic, which will definitely be one badass butterfly!
Up until today, Raepublic was just the "shop" portion of this site. However, it having a different name from the website itself confused the peoples! The response I have experienced from the name Raepublic has been amazing! People really dig it and I love it too! YAY! ;-) The name itself incorporates a little slice of me (my middle name being Rae) and the logo pays homage to my roots, the Great Pacific Northwest which I love so deeply.
Another change that is coming is the shop itself, which has definitely been neglected these last few months. Don't worry though, it will soon be filled with vegan lip balm, handmade vegan soaps, hand poured all natural soy candles, vegan bath bombs...oh and much more! I don't want to give away all the goodies just yet though - I've got to save some for later!
So sit back, relax and get ready because the best is yet to come! I mean seriously, who doesn't like badass butterflies!
Welcome to Raepublic!
P.S. Don't worry, if you forget about the big changes coming up and accidentally go to Salty Rhymes instead of Raepublic.com it will still lead you to where you want to go. At least for a while. ;-)
